2016 was in many ways, a strong symbolic year for the social and solidarity-based economy in general and for Uless particularly.
The new passed law from december 12th 2016 legislating social impact companies (SIS) constitutes undoubtedly the most significant event of the past year. This new legislation devotes indeed an official recognition for the social and solidarity-based economy. Until now, the development of the social and solidarity-based economy in Luxembourg relyed on the joined efforts of the Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de l’Economie sociale et solidaire as an approving authority and on ULESS as a representative federation of diversity in our business sector. Starting in 2016 our existing members and more broadly all persons and structures who wish to conciliate economic activities and social aim, will be able to rely on a new regime of the social impact companies (SIS). Conveyed by the excellency of social innovation, the introduction of social impact companies will encourage vocations and lead to the creation of numerous new companies within the big family of the luxemburgish social and solidarity-based economy. The new passed law from december 12th 2016 legislating social impact companies (SIS) shall probably contribute to strenghten even more the union of our federation.
